At this time of the year, I want all of us to reflect on the good feelings the season may bring. I personally want to wish each and everyone health and happiness. I hope each person remembers the true meaning of the season and the gifts God has loaned us. The only gift he gives us that matters is his love, compassion and promise of eternal life. It is all ours for the taking.
Each year I try to write a poem to share with others at Christmas. Following is my attempt for this year. I hope you enjoy it and find pleasure my futile attempts to engage others to think, and to thank you for taking the time to read my posts.
CHRISTMAS 2023
The snow, to the ground, is softly falling.
While boughs of the trees are gently bending.
The scene is pure and clean, yet softly calling
Shows the beauty God creates is never ending.
The tall evergreen still proudly, stately standing
Awaits the shining tinsel, and glass adornments.
Gifts so neatly wrapped, under the tree are landing
Bringing loads of curious, appealing, entertainment.
The colors on the tree are special, just for me,
Memories of the past and hopes of future times
Reflect in every single, shining ball I stop to see,
With ears being tickled, as bells so quietly chime.
The meaning of Christmas, can oft be pushed aside
Overwhelmed with parties, loud gaiety and mirth.
The one great gift that under the tree will not reside
Is the manger and thoughts of our Saviors birth.
The greatest gift, to all was given one lonely night,
In a stable dark and shared with beasts that night.
Knowing not the world would be, forever changed
He was to us, the promise, God had now arranged.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all
This is lovely Grandpa! Merry Christmas!!!
