ONCE UPON A TIME

Once upon a time there was a country that enjoyed peaceful quiet and calm.  In this country neighbors knew neighbors and were friendly and always willing to help each other. Children played with each other, outside, and knew it was time to be home when it got dark.  Bicycles were parked in the front yard, not the lawn, and never locked.  Doors remained unlocked for the most part and windows would be open allowing fresh air in.  We rode big yellow school buses to and from school and loudly laughed and joked along the way.  Teachers unions did not dictate when schools were open and what the hours were to be.  Teacher unions did not take political stands on issues and force schools to be indoctrination centers for young minds.  Respect for others was taught from the earliest ages and destruction of other people’s property was not accepted.

The above is not an excerpt from a book or the setting for a movie.  It depicts life as I was growing up and forming the morals and attitudes I would live with forever.  I was constantly taught there was no substitute for good manners and respect for authority figures, including police officers.  I like many of my friends were stopped by police for speeding and such more than once, however, myself and no one with me was ever shot or killed by the police, we just obeyed any orders they issued and showed respect.

It was amazing how we could turn on the TV, radio or pick up a newspaper and actually believe what we saw or heard.  If something was reported that a person of importance had said that was bad, it was verifiable, not quoted as an anonymous source.  Today on those rare occurrences that something good is quoted the source is proud to be identified, but those producing negative comments remain anonymous.  Will we ever be able to determine when the truth is being reported?

Once upon a time, not so very long ago, all Americans supported our country and many others around the world wanted to come here and also support our free way of life.  Now people from around the world want to infiltrate our borders legally and illegally to bring their laws and biases with them to change our great nation into a semblance of what they want to leave.  If these are your wishes just stay where you are.  The elected President, Democrat or Republican, one you liked or one you disliked, was supported by everyone while in office and we all wanted to make America as great as possible.  When Obama was elected I and many others like me continued to live our lives, work and tried to support him even though disliking him tremendously.  With the election of Donald Trump the Democrat Party urged and incited people to not accept him as our leader and to fight his every move.  President Trump is our President and his position should be respected regardless of your feelings toward him personally.  You need not try to destroy our country because of your personal hate for the individual.

There may be a time in the near future that we wake up and find Joe Biden has been elected President of this great nation.  What will that bring?  I fear that in that situation our economy would implode and self-destruct.  Our military would be reduced to nothing more than a parade unit and our country would become a socialistic laughing stock to the rest of the world.  I will continue to do as I do today and try in my own way to help our country in ways the liberals and democrats have not done for the last four years.  I will work, not riot or destroy property and I will pray for supreme help from the God I worship.

To avoid the dark future that is possible for our nation, become aware of what the forces are doing to destroy our way of life.  Strengthen the family unit and develop faith so your peace and freedom can continue.  The forces being pushed by silent promoters are evil.  They want unrest, civil disorder, hate and division to continue and grow.  The only God they have is power and money.  We must stop these forces.  This most important of elections coming in November is our only chance.  We must return Donald Trump to office and help him in his endeavors to drain the swamp and heal this nation.

We can return to a similar time we enjoyed once upon a time if we unite and work in the same direction.  I want people to maintain their differences and individualism but stop the hate and dislike of what is good just because someone other than you or your candidate is leading us.  Grow up, be patriotic, love others and become involved and vote.  Vote early and vote often but always in person, not by mail.

A collection of diverse friends with equally diverse thoughts is the single most interesting way to gain knowledge.

The thoughts and ideas expressed above are exclusively those of Jack Straley and www.justplaintalkwithjack.com  We may agree, and that’s fine, or we may disagree, that’s okay too.  My sole purpose is to encourage others to think, study, and become involved. Exercise your freedom and above all, when presented the opportunity, please vote.
