PERSPECTIVE

Any issue we are confronted with we develop our own perspective as to the severity and impact it will have on our way of life. Today we are confronted with a pandemic called Covid-19 or Coronavirus. The attitude or point of view we approach this issue with will go a long way to determining how we survive in the end when the crisis is over.

I have posted and made many comments on my thoughts and feelings about this crisis. I think many have misunderstood what I was trying to say, I’ll try to elaborate. Yes it is severe and serious. The contagion factor is discussed but known as a definite. The numbers that will be infected are based on speculation and nothing solid to back it up. We can predict radical numbers gathered from outer space or we can use models based on other situations we have experienced, battled and survived.

If one of my immediate family members contracted Covid-19 and then died it would be catastrophic to me. In my family 25% of the people would have been infected and the same 25% would have died or 100% of the infected. It all comes down to the perspective we have when analyzing our situations. In our nation of 330,000,000 we will never reach an infected percent of 25 as some have tried to convince me. One acquaintance even suggested as much as 75% of Americans could be infected and in either case up to 30% of the infected could die. This individual even went so far as to say this would probably happen within the next 33 days. Relax, it won’t be that way.

This is a very serious situation and we keep hearing how we are in a war against an invisible enemy. In fact we are in a war against two very different enemies. Yes enemy number 1 is the disease. We are making progress every day and we will prevail. Enemy number 2 is the United States Congress or more specifically the Democrat leadership and their puppets in the House of Representatives. Democrats, led by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer want to battle the biggest crisis, the largest pandemic thus far known to man with endowments to the Kennedy Center and the Endowment for the Arts. We are fighting a sickness, disease or virus in no way affected by same day voter registration with same day voting. We don’t need to spend portions of a $2.2 trillion bill on airplane emissions or election audits. There are way too many needs tied to the Coronavirus to let a few radical liberals derail what good our President is trying to accomplish. We must vote out all these self-centered individual that don’t give a damn about you and me and our country.

Yes, I think as a nation we have over reacted. We have almost destroyed the best economy in the world. We have given working people the incentive to not work and yet earn more. Bernie and the liberals love this. I’m sick and tired of having all the talking heads compare us, The United States of America, to Italy, Europe and Asia. Our demographics are completely at odds with them. Our economy is different and they depend more on us than we do on them. Our medical systems are in no way comparable. You want Medicare for all and a one payer system, just look at Italy a little closer.

We are Americans, one and all. We have won warts and we have rebuilt the world over again. We will prevail and with the proper perspective we look back and see just how the media has manipulated us through this entire fiasco. For complete freedom of worry and concern a new concept has been derived by scientist and medical professionals. You can easily Google “How to properly wash your hands” for detailed instructions. I tried it and guess what, I’ve been washing my hands for over seventy years, and somehow we failed to teach younger generations how to do this.

I don’t mind getting older, I just wish the rest of my body would feel the same way.
