KOREA

The number one issue dominating the media today is Korea.  This is not a new topic but there is a renewed focus on this tiny peninsula and its inbred unstable leadership.  The current leader is capable of unbelievable feats.  It is reported that the very first time he went bowling he scored a perfect 300, and his first golf outing netted 11 holes in one out of the 18 holes played.  This nation and its leaders are once again bringing the world to the brink of war if rhetoric is to be believed.

Controversy surrounding Korea started in 1896 when Japan suggested that Korea be split into two countries along the 38th parallel.  Russia would control the northern part of the peninsula or the new country while Japan would continue its control of the southern part.  Russia balked at this plan and Japan took control of the entire peninsula in 1910.

At the conclusion of WWII the issue of Korea was addressed as it was a part of the agreement that had Japan relinquishing control of its territories.  Once again the 38th parallel was focused on as the U.S.State Department established two separate countries.

On June 25, 1950 North Korea invaded South Korea with an invading force of 75,000 and the Korean War began.  On July 27, 1953, 3 years, 1 month and 2 days after the start of the conflict an Armistice Agreement was signed calling for the cessation of hostilities and armed conflict.  There was never a peace treaty signed and therefore the war never ended in actuality.  Over 6 decades later we still have in excess of 20,000 troops stationed in South Korea helping to protect the border (38th parallel) from incursion.

1950 was just 5 years from when we first dropped a nuclear bomb on Japan to help end the war.  General Douglas McArthur desperately wanted to drop another bomb of this nature on Korea, but was not allowed to do so.  During the five years of war the United States dropped over 600,000 tons of conventional bombs on North Korea which is more bombs that were dropped on Japan during WWII.

During the past 6 decades every American administration has been heckled, pushed and pestered by North Korea.  As is the American way we repeatedly paid their ransom rather that stand tall and proud.  That is when politicians began to run the war and dictate measures to be taken rather than our military personnel.  We have not approached any challenge with a plan to win since.  We have exited every confrontation half done.  This has now become America’s longest war and is a direct result of inept politicians running the show.

We have now elected an individual with convictions and beliefs about the strength and presence of America in the world.  Mr. Trump has stood his ground and not fallen victim to the wishes of the politicians and is calling the bluff issued by North Korea.  My research shows over 18,000 persons have lost their lives while defending South Korea during the 6 decades since the war ended.  This useless loss of life has to end and now is the time.

This will be a tenuous moment in history.  North Korea has allies such as Iran, China, Cuba and Venezuela to name a few.  We have no way of knowing how they will react   If armed conflict does occur, even if for only a short time, there will be casualties, on both sides.  If we can keep the political factions out of the decision making and halt the media from their continual brainwashing the public on the evils of the United States military, casualties will be minimized and a final solution to the Korean conflict can take place.

It is a risk for our country to intercede on behalf of the free world in controlling North Korea, but all worthwhile actions have their own risks that must be evaluated.  Mr. Trump, 62,000,000 American citizens voted for you.  We believe you have basic common sense and will attempt to do the right thing.  We feel you have the winning attitude and can make America proud again.

If we end up in war with North Korea we must win decidedly in a short time.  Next we can make plans to declare war on Congress and accomplish the goal of draining the swamp.  As we read this we have idiots, that we elected, in Washington attempting to organize and strip the president of his power and authority to protect us without crawling to them and begging for permission.  This is not right.

There’s a possibility I could be wrong, but I’m still right.

The thoughts and ideas expressed above are exclusively those of Jack Straley.  We may agree, and that’s fine, or we may disagree, that’s okay too.  My sole purpose is to encourage others to think, study, and become involved. Exercise your freedom and above all, when presented the opportunity, please vote.

  1. We would not have this mess had it not been for the greed of Clinton and the cowardice of Obama. Simple. Now President Trump is going to have to clean up their mess and won’t even get any credit for it, but the left will have lots of criticism for what he does.
