I have a confession to make.  This is an era that demands complete transparency and I feel I must comply.  After much soul searching and research I have determined that I must be a liberal democrat.  There, I said it.  My conscience is clear and I feel wonderful about myself. 

We are living in a world that knows no limit on the entitlements one can have bestowed while looking for more.  I laughed at the idiocy of the Obama phone, Obamacare and other programs.  We have a generation that has grown up not having to work to acquire all their toys and pleasures.  Liberals and democrats live for the possibility of providing everything to all and thereby recruiting more voters. 

I have done my share to promote this mentality in my own family.  Every generation wants their children to have a better and easier life than they themselves experienced.  I have abundantly succeeded.  The first car each of my children had, I bought for them.  No effort was required on their part.  An abundance of clothes was available; again with no requirement on their part, I paid for it.  Cell phones were received in the same manner.  The list goes on and on. 

Do the above not resemble an entitlement program, at home?  Children grow up, leave their homes to start their own families, but wait.  I remember fondly the small two bedroom house we rented when starting out and the progressions we made over the years.  Most children are insulted at the thought of starting out in humble surroundings.  They seem to feel they are entitled to start at the point we have worked to attain.

 My lawn is mowed weekly by the yard people we have hired.  Dishes are washed in the automatic dish washer.  Many of us have cleaning people come in once a week or every other week to help with the house cleaning.  These are not needs but luxuries we have earned. 

We have not done our offspring any favors by living this way.  We have done a very poor job of teaching responsibility and the satisfaction of working and doing a job well.  In my house we have not assigned chores and followed through with consequences if they are not done. 

Yes, I must be a liberal democrat because of the entitlements I have bestowed on my children.  I thought my parents were democrats, but I have been mistaken.  They had to be horrible republicans for demanding I pull my weight and work as a youngster.  I guess that now in my seventies I am still rebelling at all the discipline I was taught. 

What a country.  We all need to pay more taxes and let government fill all our wants and needs.  It will still cost the same, only someone else is deciding just what all we are entitled to.  Liberals can decide much better than we just what a need is, and what a want is.  There is a big difference in the two. 

I remember when we turned on the television and actually got the news, not someone’s opinion on the news.  I have found a new source for news.  They give the news and you interpret it as you feel you need to.  It is OANN, or One America News Network.  You might try it.
