In case you haven’t heard, the election is over. Mr. Trump and the Republican Party won. It’s time to stop the temper tantrums, the name calling and untruthful rhetoric being spewed. This country has an election for President every four years. Sometimes the party or individual I support wins, other times they don’t. We need to mature and accept the results whether you like them or not. It is not the end but rather, a new beginning. Let’s unite and build something exceedingly great and be proud of it.
For over fifty-five years I have worked in car dealerships and been party to many changes. I have seen owners sell their businesses or just change general managers. I have been part of management changes more than once. In private business these changes are made to improve whatever situation there may be. Sometimes these changes are immediately successful, other times it may take a longer time frame to achieve the end goal. Generally change works out to be for the best.
President-elect Donald J. Trump is trying to assemble a transition team to further the policies he successfully ran on and won. Protesters, or more appropriately, people having temper tantrums with the voice of major media led by big money contributors are doing all they can to impede this reorganization and future progress. These people need to get over it. We won, they lost, and how difficult is that to understand. If given the opportunity our new leaders will bring jobs back for all these people and they won’t have time to make fools of themselves with idle time. Very few people can grasp the magnitude of the job in process to fill all the positions needed to steer this giant ship of state. Patience grasshopper, we don’t need someone being seated in a position that will help determine the course of our country for the future, without knowing they are the right people.
The one demonstration I am somewhat patiently waiting for is a time of prayer. If ever we needed divine guidance in establishing this governing seat, it is now. Rather than meeting with the full intent of destroying and creating confusion, we need to pray that the right choices are made, and the right people to do the job are brought on board. Lord, grant us the patience to see that this first step is successfully performed. Why would anyone waste their time criticizing and condemning what has not yet been done? Give our legally elected leaders the opportunity to achieve the results we all desire.
Over the years I have made many changes in my business operations. These changes were made for specific reasons. Sometimes my changes didn’t work as I had envisioned but I had the chance to regroup and keep working until I was able to get the results I was striving for. If you are so impatient you cannot give time to get things straightened out, then you will never be happy with the results that come forth.
Rather than being a negative force, take a deep breath, relax and decide what you can contribute to become a positive force. You may be surprised at just how great we can make America, again. The “Shining City On The Hill” can become brighter than ever before. We can all enjoy the success that awaits us, or we can destroy all hope before the journey begins. If you feel you must stand on the corner and shout “NOT MY PRESIDENT,” then this must not be your country either, so please feel free to leave.
Hey Jack, these protesters aren’t going to put aside their feelings of ill will for Trump – because these people are on a war footing. To them, politics is just war by another means (a turn on Carl von Clausewitz). They are at war with America and what America stands for – and they will not stop until they destroy what America is. See, when conservatives lose, we go back to work the next day and make the best of it. When Democrats lose, they start riots and begin a campaign to de-legitimize their enemy. This is the nature of someone who is at war with America and not someone with whom we can reason. We – those of us who rejected Clinton – need to double down on our win and press our agenda as relentlessly as Obama would have. We have given up much ground in the past 8 years. Trump’s initial nominees show he is serious about upholding his campaign promises.
