NINE – ELEVEN

It was a beautiful, calm Sunday morning that December 7th.  The Hawaiian Islands and the military port of Pearl Harbor were coming awake.  The year was 1941.  This was not unlike many other mornings in the island paradise until, suddenly from the western skies came a parade of destruction and havoc like had never been seen on American soil.  Hell rained down from the blue skies on the unsuspecting citizens and military personnel.  The Japanese had attacked our naval fleet based at Pearl Harbor.  No other day in our history had as strong an impact on the American people, until sixty years later.

Tuesday morning arrived like many other mornings in New York City. No one had any idea what was to occur.  Hidden among the crowds, a group of Middle Eastern men had assembled in Boston at Logan Airport and began implementing a long rehearsed act of terror.  Business travelers were boarding flights for destinations across the country.  Mixed with the business people were Muslim men, prepared to die, and hoping to take as many with them on their trip to eternity as they possibly could.  Each one of these Muslim Terrorists was residing in this country as a product of a very lax immigration system.  Planes were commandeered and forced to fly alternate routes.  One ended up crashed into the Pentagon while passengers fought their captors and crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.  Two other planes flew into and brought down the two towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.  Thousands of Americans lost their lives that day.  The lives of all Americans were forever changed in the following hours.  The year was 2001.

Fifteen years later we find ourselves still vulnerable to the same or similar activities. We have existed with unsecured borders, a loose immigration system and a virtually worthless program for monitoring foreigners here on visas.  A populace of unsatisfied citizens is demanding better security for our homeland.  As this year of political elections unfolds, a bitter divisiveness is taking place in our homeland.

Our do nothing congress has not done anything of substance to change our immigration system. The people are now demanding change.  The Democratic Party insists on the uncontrolled importation of unvetted individuals from countries whose main export is terrorism.  The unfeeling Republican Party candidate, being accused of having no compassion, is attempting to limit this mass import of persons that have the sole desire to extinguish us and our way of life.  There is no middle ground.  We must take all reasonable actions to secure our borders and know, without doubt, who is entering our country.

This nation was founded by immigrants from many countries around the world. We still need to welcome immigrants to our shores and across our borders.  We must take action to control which peoples we grant that admission.  To maintain our security and sovereignty we must exercise controls and allow in only those that agree with and desire to live under our laws, not Sharia or any other system.

America finds itself once again a sleeping giant. Forget political correctness and act with passion, we must defeat our enemies.  There will always be forces wanting to annihilate us; we cannot allow these people open access to our land.  We must secure the border.  We must fully vet any immigrant wanting entry.  We must act as if our lives depended on it.  We must vote for the one that will take steps to provide the security we need.  We must vote for the one that does not put every office up for sale.  We must vote for the one that will not sell us out.  We must vote for the one that has not the reputation of lying mixed with crime.

Take a stand; choose a side to root for. Being a country boy, I found out long ago:  If you straddle the fence, sooner or later you’re gonna get hung on the barbed wire.

The thoughts and ideas expressed above are exclusively those of Jack Straley. We may agree, and that’s fine, or we may disagree, that’s okay too.  My sole purpose is to encourage others to think, study, and become involved. Exercise your freedom and above all else please vote.
