EASTER

On this Easter weekend I want to depart from the normal political rants and come closer to the meaning of what this weekend really is.  I will share another poem I wrote and hope you get the same feeling I do, after reading it.  Hope each and every one of you have a pleasant and meaningful Easter.

EASTER
The weathered old cross on the hillside lays,
Reminding us, the price of sin, Jesus pays.
Our sins and worries were all laid bare
He took our burden, and showed real care.

The ages come, and yet his story lasts
Of salvation served, from a long ago past.
From the miracle of, a holy, virgin birth
He knew just how, he’d leave this Earth.

My sins and worries and grief now gone
Thanks to the one, on whom light, was shone.
The blood stained cloak, and crown with thorn
Was all he wore long after he was born.

The humble end, of a life spent for me
Offers salvation, for all that can see.
Proven sinners we all have been,
But forgiveness we got, at the burial den.

The weathered old cross on the hillside lays
For eternal life, and forgiveness it pays.
A pathway to heaven, is now out there
And our command, is this message, to share.

Happy Easter to all.
