Recently we have noticed several incidents of Mother Nature at work. The island of Maui was almost destroyed by the violent forces of fire and wind. Officials immediately started screaming that it was the result of climate change and worse would be coming in the future. We must increase taxes and change the horrible carbon footprint men and farting cows are leaving on our planet. As some sensibility began to return, people, government people, began receiving criticism. Officials were blaming each other for idiotic mistakes the politicos made. Oops, I forgot to turn on the warning sirens, while others forgot to reroute water supplies so the fires could be fought. The climate change that caused the confusion was strictly in the heads of those that goofed up.
We have just witnessed another act of Mother Nature on a rampage. Florida is not virgin to intrusions nor damages incurred by hurricanes. Once again throngs rant and yell it is the result of climate change. No it isn’t, it is the cycle of nature. Some years we have numerous hurricanes while in other years we have fewer. Some are stronger and more devastating than others but none are the direct result of climate change. Since the beginning of time, droughts and floods have occurred in cycles. This has been accepted as Mother Nature until the educated zealots began flying around in private jets forecasting doom, due to climate change.
The polar ice caps have not melted, the oceans haven’t flooded the coasts, and life is continuing. God’s creation was made to endure trials, disasters and abuse. We may mar this creation but we will not destroy it through global warning..
There is a turbulent storm brewing that needs to be addressed immediately. There is a severe case of climate change we must usher and welcome in to save our great nation. The storm is very simply the stale, stagnant air that has consumed Congress. There is more than one avenue we can travel to achieve this positive climate change. The most effective channel will be determined by the people and it may take a combination of routes to gain complete success with new air for all of us.
One avenue is to enact term limits for all elected officials and heads of the various departments such as DOJ, FBI, CIA, NIA and all others too numerous to list. The only way to attain this measure is through a Convention of States as directed in our Constitution. It takes 33 states to enact a convention and several years we have struggled to get 18 states to agree to this. Our Congress will never place limits on themselves it will take we the people to do so. Our elected congressional people have no fear of losing their office, they have fear of losing their power and roads to wealth.
Another avenue is to set age limits. Most companies, until recently, had a mandatory retirement age of 70 or younger. Our Senate currently has 34 members of the 100 member body that are 70 and older, up to 90 years of age. This group also has 15 members that, in my opinion, need to take tests both for cognitive awareness and constitutional knowledge. Our House of Representatives has many of the same issues. Of the 435 total voting members 85 are past the age of 70 and would qualify for my mandatory retirement age of 70. An additional 21 meet the requirements, in my opinion, to be mandated to take and pass tests both for cognitive awareness and constitutional knowledge. Again I think either of these requirements could only be directed by the actions of a Convention of States and subsequent popular approval. Due to the number of names I have passed judgement on I am not publishing the lists at this time. If you would like a copy of the lists please let me know at jstraley@knology.net and I will forward same to you.
One more way to change the existing climate in Congress is to circulate and demand recall elections for those that are not serving the people. This action starts with individuals, goes to neighborhoods and proceeds to county and state party headquarters ending with the various Secretaries of State.
The winds of disaster are swirling. The climate and attitude of government must be changed. We have not even mentioned the unsettled climate in the White House at this time. That’s another tornado that is running out of control and yet to be curtailed.
Finally, there could be a revolution of the masses at the voting booth. The only way to stop the climate we now have is to get rid of the stale, unpatriotic air that is so abundant in the halls of government. Become educated, become active, become vocal and actively vote, for the sake of Democracy and our Constitutional Republic.
