POWER vs RESPONSIBILITY

The thoughts and ideas expressed below are exclusively those of Jack Straley and www.justplaintalkwithjack.com  We may agree, and that’s fine, or we may disagree, that’s okay too.  My sole purpose is to encourage others to think, study, and become involved. Exercise your freedom and above all, when presented the opportunity, please vote.

The primary purpose of government is to defend the sovereignty of the nation and its people while protecting and insuring the freedoms, rights, and liberties of the populace.  At this time our government has lost sight of these responsibilities and is striving for absolute power and domination over the same people it governs.

The Constitution of The United States of America is the most important document, yet the most overlooked and ignored document, created by our founding fathers.  The opening words of the Constitution are We The People, meaning the citizens, all of us, are attempting to create a more perfect union.  Perfection may never be attained, but we continue to work in that direction. Our journey is made possible within the Constitution through Article V and the 10th amendment.  In 2024 we may experience the most critical vote we have ever had and the result could be the

end of our way of life and our country.

The Democrat Party wants one party rule and complete control of our government and our lives.  The Constitution insures us specific, God given, rights and liberties which the Democrat Party refuses to accept.  The Democrats want to implement their accepted cultural norms in place of the religious God given rights we were founded on.  The religious basis shows a definite difference in men and women in the physical sense.  They want bisexual or sex neutral restrooms and locker rooms accommodating the various sports organizations.  Women and men being different, yet equal, complement each other and children raised by both parents have the best moral foundation.

Progressives are working diligently to influence the education process by introducing the LGBTQ+ into the classroom and indoctrinating our youth with Drag Queen performances that detract from true education with story hours for elementary age kids.  This is not their responsibility but is a flagrant over use of their power.  Regardless of the progressive drive, these are still our children and not wards of the state.

The responsibility of protecting our sovereignty is being ignored.  Our borders are not secure, immigration is not controlled, and criminals are not being punished.  Our federal government does nothing yet refuses to let the local states step up to the challenge.  The tenth amendment to the Constitution clearly states that all powers not explicitly delegated to the federal government revert to the states.  It furthers implies that if the states do not act the power transcends down to the people.  This reinforces the opening of the Constitution with “We The People.”   Ours is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

The only way we achieve some changes that will curtail the drive for power will be by employing our power and the process reserved for us in Article V of the Constitution.  Power of the elected can be curtailed by term limits and demanding a stop of excessive spending.  A Convention of States allows the people to formulate amendments and then present them for approval.  An amendment for term limits will never be offered by those in office, it must be done by the populace.  Likewise, limits on spending will be not be employed by those in office.  Needless spending and pork barrel projects give incumbents power and control over the lives of everyday citizens.  Both changes can only occur by exercising the liberty presented in Article V.

Our founding fathers were wise and took all means and care to see that our republic was secure.  Those seeking to interpret the Constitution to satisfy their wants and needs need to be reminded for whom they work.

We the People have the power to force change, and it is our responsibility to do so.  If we don’t do it now, we may never have another chance.
