I wish I had a better command of the English language.  I find I often repeat the same words when other words would better fit what I am trying to describe.  My lack of education or just naturally being dumb is my roadblock to the ocean of words available.  If you think I speak too simple at times, please bear with me.  If you think I use the wrong words at times, I’m sorry, just consider the source.

There are supposedly 171,476 common words in use today, however combine obsolete words with the Unabridged Webster’s dictionary with its 1993 Addenda Section you have 470,000 words at your disposal.  With this huge array of vocabulary available why do we hear and/or use so much profanity when communicating today?

I humbly confess that I use and have used less than favorable verbiage in writing and speaking usually resulting in self-imposed embarrassment.  The part of this that bothers me most is the relaxed acceptance of this profane language used by people of note, politicians and even our President.  It should be found offensive by all of us and cause our ears to block anything else they have to say completely out.

My father, though uneducated, was a very intelligent person.  He more than once told me the use of profanity was a show of lack of education and intelligence.  He went on to say that use of such language in mixed company showed a complete lack of respect for the other people.  By his understanding, forcing bad language on others was simply rude and inconsiderate.

We understand our current oval office occupier is the most unqualified person to ever hold the position.  Others before him had less formal education but could express themselves much better and less offensive.  We have televised members of Congress showing their ignorance daily with their use of profanity.  This language should be banned from the halls of government.

One can listen to radio or view television at any hour of the day and hear profanity running rampant.  Couple this with the extravagant display of sex and sexual innuendos and you can quickly see how the minds of our younger generations are becoming corrupted.  We are being influenced on medical advertising and the effects it has on our sexual performance, or lack thereof.  Dating services advertise the results they produce with sexually matched partners.  This is no way to use our airways and teach young people.

I find myself getting annoyed when newscasters can’t put proper sentences together when rendering the news.  Not only can they not speak, look at the text scrolling across the bottom of the screen, there is no punctuation and misspelled words are all over the article.  These are our professionals, and it makes them look amateurish.

What has happened to cause this?  This nation once known as “one nation under God” has done all possible to become one nation without God.  We have removed God from schools and public buildings.  Prayer is most often ignored when working to solve important problems.  Political campaigns and therefore politicians have become mudslinging contests and contestants.  We have lost our moral compass.  We have no use for a conscience any longer because anything goes.

There is only one solution to bringing back proper education, morality, honesty and truth.  We must bring the power and influence of God back into our everyday lives. Educators must be moral people, and teach morals.  Our pastors much preach morality and the power of God from the pulpit.  The most important step in regaining our conscience and relying on morals is to become God fearing families.  We need to restore the family evening meal where families interact and talk, parents teach children and children hear parents offer prayers of thanks at mealtime.

It all starts with us accepting God in our hearts, then voting our Conscience.  It is our only compass.  We must be as steadfast in teaching God and morality as Muslim extremists are in teaching hate and killing.  Vote
