GOOD FRIDAY

The sky was dark and rumbling,
As people gathered round.
Some in the crowd were grumbling,
Creating an ugly sound.

The lightening brightly flashed
As the ground began to tremble.
The soldiers gathered at his feet
Where they began to gamble.

The wind and dust began to blow
While angels flew quietly near.
Grief that only a mother would know
Was felt as she watched a son so dear.

The tomb was cleared, and opened wide
To accept the body of one so dear.
Wrapped in cloth, then laid inside,
Guards stood by, always near.

Between two thieves, he faced his fate,
He granted their wish, and showed no fear.
It was then, on this darkest date
He showed his love, for us, so dear.

Have a Happy and Safe Easter.
