I am trying desperately to find the word or words that best describe the feelings I find in the world we live in today. I come up with animosity, hate and hostility. Synonyms for these words are shown at the bottom of this page. The split in our country is worse than Covid-19 and can have even more severe results. Unfortunately the virus can and will kill some people but, the animosity against the duly elected leadership of this country has the potential to kill a nation.
In November 2008 we elected a Democrat, as well as the first black man, as President of this country. I had not campaigned for Barack Obama and did not want him for my president. I foolishly pushed for John McCain who graciously lost. In 2012 I reluctantly backed Mitt Romney who quit campaigning approximately two weeks before the election and gave the win to Obama. I was not happy with the results, but I accepted them. For these eight years I never once participated in a protest, I didn’t riot nor did I take part in any looting as an act of my displeasure. When the opportunity presented itself I did work for change to occur in 2012 and again in 2016.
In November 2016 the American people elected a non-politician, successful business man and somewhat television personality to the office of President of the United States of America. He has worked to fulfill more campaign promises than any elected official in modern history and has done more to help more Americans than most thought possible. He was not, just like Bill Clinton, an altar boy or a saint. One big difference his promiscuous affairs were done as the acts of a private citizen, not as an elected official. The lewd and illegal acts of Mr. Clinton were covered up with taxpayer money and state and federal police. Yet he is loved by the masses. We wanted the swamp cleaned, and Mr. Trump has tried. The raw truth is the swamp is so full of members of all political leanings and party memberships that it will never be cleaned by one man. We all need to help him and demand a Convention of States to see it through.
I look at the word animosity and see hidden the word hate shared with outright hostility. How President Trump has been this successful is in itself an amazing accomplishment. Every move he has put forth has been met with criticism and road blocks. The liberal left is so filled with animosity, hate and hostility that truth and facts have been completely ignored and lost. The future of our country and our way of life is hanging by a thread and will be determined with the results of the election this November. If elected, Joe Biden will only serve a short time, to be replaced by a party devotee that will follow the dictates of the establishment. Our economy will collapse overnight and our national security will disappear. Anarchy, operating under the guise of Democrats, will rule and our future will be gone forever. After serving for fifty years Joe Biden today is an empty shell with no direction or compass.
I have over the course of my lifetime had persons I did not care for and there were/are many that don’t care for me. I don’t think any of them would go so far as to have the feelings about me that are so prevalent against Mr. Trump. Only by endorsing the extreme feelings I am talking about are the actions we are witnessing being perpetrated. The rioting and looting are a result of the feelings about our President and our country. Everyone has the right to peacefully protest and work for change but the violence and destruction must stop. There are acceptable ways to show disapproval of the president but humanity seems to have taken a step backward.
Unfortunately we cannot look for help from the elected Democrats or Republicans. Both parties are consumed by corrupt career politicos that function only for power and money. We as a united people must make and demand the changes that are necessary. The only peaceful power we have is in the ballot box. If we do not use the power of the vote we will be doomed. I personally worry that no matter who or which party wins the next election we will see violence in the streets that will make recent events appear as barn dances and festivals. We must reach the point where patriotic Americans govern America, not career, corrupt, out of touch politicians.
The answer is an educated, informed electorate. The uninformed, uneducated and brainwashed union members will not give up easily. The ideals of Socialism and Anarchy have not worked anywhere before so why do we now look so favorable at it? Socialism and Anarchy are at our doorstep waiting for the opportunity to grab hold of our nation and destruction will follow. A democrat victory this fall will lead to a world led by extremist socialists and liberals that will destroy us, no discussion. For survival, reelect President Trump and help Make America even Greater than it’s ever been.
