Murder is murder, plain and simple. What we were witness to in Minneapolis was pure and simple murder perpetrated by a member of the police force. It appears to me that it was performed as a premeditated crime committed with malice. Why authorities have taken this long to file criminal charges is beyond reason. The officer that held the man down and all others at the scene that did not intercede on his behalf should be charged.
I don’t care one bit what color a person is or what crime he has committed, he is human and deserves due process and allowed to let justice occur. I have never met a police officer that started his day with the thought that he would kill someone that day. There are good people and bad people in every walk of life doing their jobs and existing in a civil society. Maybe something snapped and the Minneapolis officer lost it temporarily, which cuts him no slack. The profession of being a peace officer is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 day a year responsibility. If you can’t handle the responsibility and duty, don’t go there.
I fully support the hundreds of people that are protesting the killing of George Floyd. We are all guaranteed the right of free assembly which includes the right to peaceful protest. It is completely understandable that people in other locations unite in these protests. These actions should not be a matter of black and white but right and wrong. You can scream “Black Lives Matter” but I don’t care, all lives matter. No black life is worth more than mine nor is mine worth more than a black. Black, white, red and yellow we are all God’s creatures and deserve to be treated as such.
The protests taking place have become overshadowed by the rioting and looting that is taking place. This is uncalled for and should be stopped immediately, with force if necessary. The death of Mr. Floyd means less every hour the uprisings continue. Innocent people of all colors and races are having their lives disrupted and destroyed by a few radical idiots. Many such incidents are financed by and supported by George Soros and his disciples as another step toward the destruction of America.
I want someone to explain how the destruction of one’s neighborhood and city will correct any wrongdoing that was perpetrated on a citizen in Minneapolis or anywhere else. We have miles of video footage of every case of looting and the participants that took part in it. We need to prosecute every one of these individuals to the full extent of the law.
One unarmed black man was killed by a white cop is unfortunate but what about all the blacks that are killed by other blacks? Do these black lives not matter? Look at what is continually happening in Chicago, Dallas. Los Angeles and other cities across this country. If one black life matters, make all black lives matter, don’t use isolated cases as an excuse to go out and rob, steal, burn and destroy.
I will defend your right to assemble and protest, peacefully, as long as I am breathing. However, I agree with President Trump, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. These criminals should be shot on the spot. It won’t take many shots and they will stop.
One benefit of all this turmoil is we are hearing something other than Covid-19 and the lies and inflated numbers associated with it.
I don’t mind getting older, I just wish the rest of my body would feel the same way.
