All nations have borders. In the United States our borders are to keep undocumented and unwanted individuals out. If you are a citizen with no outstanding warrants or wants you are free to cross our border and leave at any time you so desire.
If you have a globe or a surface map, bring it out. Look at it closely and you will see all the lines designating the borders of each country. One of the newer unions is the European Union (EU) where cross traffic and trade are open between the member states. However, each member state has its own border, definite and distinctive.
Looking at a map of the Ukraine you will see the numerous borders shared with other countries. The largest common border is with Russia and is on the north, northeast side. The Black Sea forms a natural border to the south, southeast side. There are approximately six other nations that share their borders with the Ukraine and all these countries have one thing in common, they are members of the European Union.
Today we are embroiled in a nasty impeachment inquiry involving the Ukraine and Russian border conflict and Ukrainian independence. We, The United States of America, have sent hundreds of millions of dollars to the most corrupt country in Europe, the Ukraine. Now the very future of our country is being risked with the continual party bickering about the Ukraine border and Russia. My question is; what has the balance of the EU neighboring nations contributed to insure the safety and independence of Ukraine? Once again, are we the police for the world? Personally I don’t care what transpires on the border between Russia and the Ukraine. They need to handle the problem without us or they can choose to send money for us to build our own border. Where is the line that stops us and forces us to pay attention to our own border, safety and independence?
Nancy Pelosi and her surrogates set on their self-anointed royal thrones and ignore our domestic issues. We have a southern border that needs to be solidified and authorities need to be empowered so they can maintain and control all who cross. We have issues such as the USMCA trade agreement that need to be settled yet we play around with impeachment over non-impeachable questions. Could we not better spend the monies we send as military aid to other countries on our own country?
Where and when did the practice of spending billions of dollars on improving other countries start and take precedence over improving our own country. I am not an isolationist but I do feel extreme loyalty to the country of my home. Unless we can depend on our elected officials to work on the behalf of us and our country, we have no option but to de-elect them. Vote the idiots out now.
The only realistic solution for our country is a Convention of States. Our current slate of civil servants (ha, ha) will never take action to rectify the situation we have. We must demand term limits. Term limits could also be considered for the career diplomats and government employees. It appears that once one secures a position in government service they are there for life. It has become evident even to the blind that these insecure career bureaucrats are the deep state and need to be eliminated. After time they feel more important than our elected representation including the president. I’m sorry but I don’t remember voting for a diplomat and asking him/her to set foreign policy but I definitely remember electing a President and casting my trust in his decisions for appointments. If these appointments were temporary and lasted as long as the term of the president we wouldn’t have many of the issues we face today. I am fed up with Obama holdovers and deep state lifers.
I have two requests. Will you please join me at the voting booth and get these imbeciles out of the way for a new breed to assume control? Secondly, please become active on a local level and push your States Attorneys General to join the move for a Convention of States, the peoples only other option.
I don’t mind getting older, I just wish the rest of my body would feel the same way. Age does not bring an automatic picnic.
