On January 22, 2016 I sat down and began to compose an essay or letter to my sisters and some other family members. The title was “I AM ANGRY.” After sharing this I had several persons state and encourage me to start a blog. That article became post number 1 and today I am presenting post number 200 on the website http://www.justplaintalkwithjack.com also known as Jack’s Blog. Our key to continuing as a free.
I have had a tremendous amount of fun doing this and covered my feelings and thoughts on a wide variety of subjects. I have written satire concerning weather as well as items about Hillary Clinton and family. I have touched on Congress, the Supreme Court and the President. Some was written tongue in cheek while others were written with my true feelings on the subject at hand. I hope you have enjoyed these as much as I enjoyed doing it. My education started at a three room country school house and continued at the city school I graduated from. I was one of a huge graduating class of under 100. I feel my classmates and I received exceptional educations including studies on government, civics and the constitution. I honestly feel students today do not receive the education in high school we did. In many ways we have become much too sophisticated to get honest, truthful educations partly due to political correctness.
My goals in doing this have been many. Foremost has been my desire to entertain while getting people to become informed on candidates and issues. If I have caused one person to vote that would not have done so otherwise, I have been tremendously successful. Our key to continuing as a free country is to become involved and vote.
Once in a while I add an unusual word, at least I think it’s unusual, to expand our vocabulary and have others try to figure out what it may mean. One example was my recent article ENTERTAINMENT which included the word antediluvian. The definition, if you really care is: “ridiculously old-fashioned” or even “of or belonging to the time before the biblical Flood”. Maybe actually as I say occasionally, Older than dirt.
Anytime you have thoughts or ideas for future articles you can offer feedback through comments on the blog page or contact me at jstraley@knology.net. Thanks for reading and hopefully sharing with others. Agree or disagree, together we can make a difference.
I don’t mind getting older. Projects such as this slow the process. I just wish the rest of my body felt the same way about it.
