The emergence of some new politicians on the scene has, if nothing else, been testament to our education system. Most recent graduates can perform complex mathematic equations, often with the use of a handheld calculator, not the slide rule I grew up using. Most are unable to put three sentences together without insulting the rules of grammar. History is continually being taught and rewritten with little relevance to the truth. Civics and constitution rate little more than a flippant wave of a hand to be grossly overlooked and dismissed.

The ignorance and mistruths so often spewing forth from the mouths of the babes such as Ocacio-Ortiz and Beto O’Rourke should not be given credence or coverage by the media. Old hands such as Rep. Schiff, Rep. Nadler, Rep. Pelosi and Sen Schumer serve no use except examples of how truth has no bearing or influence in the world today. Any lie spoken loud enough, often enough and with enough false passion is to be taken as gospel and believed without any reservation.

The Constitution of the United States was carefully developed and written after much heated debate. It has survived and performed miraculously for over two hundred and thirty years. Unfortunately politicians or more specifically Democrats have let their hate for our current President far exceed their love of our country. Politics has replaced patriotism and now our sacred document, the Constitution, does not satisfy their goals and in their opinion needs to be replaced or reworked.

Our Constitution has had more than one change made regarding voting rights and age limits. Blacks were given the right to vote at the chagrin of many whites, women were allowed to vote while upsetting many old white men. The voting age was lowered to eighteen years of age, now Democrats are seeking two changes. There is no way an illegal alien or non-citizen of this country should be allowed to enter a voting booth under any condition. The democrats reasoning for this change is it falls in line with their party desires. They feel most illegals will vote democrat to be assured of the handout programs they push. Democrats want to expand the population of persons dependent on their government for survival, at our expense.

The voting age being lowered is being propelled again by democrats. The present voting age of eighteen is marginal now based on the lack of maturity and education level of most eighteen year olds. That is the law and I will honor it, but to lower the legal voting age to sixteen, in my opinion, is unrealistic and being manipulated for their purpose by democrats. I will be open minded and agree to the lower voting age with a few minor revisions. First qualifier would be the person seeking voting registration must provide or show proof of a high school diploma or equivalent certificate showing the inclusion of completing satisfactory constitutional studies. Secondly, any applicant to vote must provide proof of citizenship in our country. Thirdly the applicant must be able to read, write and speak English and all ballots will be printed in English only.

There is a movement by some democrats to change the Supreme Court membership from the current nine members to as many as twenty-five. The sole purpose of the increase is to allow a democrat congress a more likely possibility to create an extreme liberal court. After the treatment democrats heaped on the last few judges during the confirmation process we are severely limiting the pool of conservative judges willing to subject themselves and their families to the humiliation. Once the size of the court is expanded who will stop the next increase. As a member of the Methodist church I see and understand how no decisions can be made in a timely manner if the committee is large enough.

The one change our constitution and country is pleading for will not be given any consideration or be caused to occur is term limits. Term limits are way past time for being added regarding length of service for Congress and members of the Supreme Court. We presently have members in both chambers that are an embarrassment to our functioning government and the people of the United States of America.
