Are we experiencing a crisis or emergency or neither one in our country today? Depending on which political party you follow and what beliefs you hold you can answer either way, or both. I believe we have an emergency that is breeding a crisis.
President Trump enacted an executive order declaring a National Emergency concerning our southern border. Almost every president has made such declarations since being granted the power to do so. This one may be illegal and he is being forced to try it because congress will not act. Why has his declaration caused such an uproar? The answer is simple. We have a president in office that cares about our country and its people while ignoring politics.
The majority of Americans have stated there is an emergency at the border. An emergency is defined as “a serious, unexpected, and often dangerous situation requiring immediate action.” Many members of congress have visited the border yet return to avow there is no emergency. What has allowed supposedly educated people to appear so stupid? Anyone that cares and lives in this country, most especially those in or near the border, know the emergency is real. We cannot remain a sovereign nation without a secure border. The current border situation allows and encourages crime and violence on all fronts. Rape runs rampant among the caravan participants destroying healthy, moral people. Meanwhile in Washington D.C. our congress is lobbying to legalize prostitution. Illegal drugs cross the border in vast amounts yet each and every state is legalizing the social use of marijuana. Is this not an encouragement for the drug dealers?
The crisis at the border is not a manufactured crisis as so many in congress like to repeat. It is real. Again I refer to the definition of crisis as “a time of intense difficulty, trouble, or danger.” Do we not recognize all of these descriptors as present and demanding attention? Surely our congress people, both democrat, republican, Muslim and independent love this country or they wouldn’t be here. If this is true, now is the time to stand up and take action.
In the absence of our elite ruling class taking substantive action we need to have a convention of states. To show the division in this country we need only look at the possibility of such a convention. Two-thirds of our states, presently thirty-four, must unite and declare such a conclave. After years of such talk and little action we have only seventeen that have actually petitioned for a convention of states, one half of the needed amount. We appear to be at a stalemate about ruling our country, there is simply no unity
In the wake of an ineffective, impotent congress we the people should gather together and vote every one of them out. We might lose a few independent congress people that are trying to do the right thing, but there is so much animosity among all of them they would be ineffective if retained
Our president, against every force imaginable, is attempting to strengthen our country while mainly democrats ply every trick and misdirection that can be found to hamper his efforts. This country is teetering on the edge of destruction. Unless we can rapidly educate newly elected loudmouths such as Ms. Ocacio-Cortez and Ms. Tlaib we will lose. Our education system is winning and sending brain washed liberals out daily. Look at the funding our universities and colleges receive from the federal government. The system would change if these funds were eliminated and conservatism and fiscal responsibility were taught.
Unfortunately we have reached the point that patriotism and sound governing policy have been replaced with politics.
