DRAIN

It is impossible to have and maintain a clean sink when the drain is clogged. Inevitably the drain will become clogged, usually with scum, hair, grease and other unpleasant objects. So is the situation in Washington D.C. We have hired a rooter man, Donald Trump, now we need to let him do his job.

Just maybe progress is being made, however slowly that may be. We got one oversized glob out of the drain with the firing of James Comey. The departure of Andrew McCabe caused a few small bubbles of air to rise through the drain and renew our hopes and faith. The remaining piece of filth blocking the drain seems to be named Rod Rosenstein. I think our rooter man is working feverishly on the reluctant clog. I anxiously await standing on the sideline watching the waste swirl as the swamp is draining.

Our swamp is full of challenges and will take much work before it is completely drained, if it ever is. It appears that the upper echelon of almost every department in government is a contributing factor to the drain being clogged. Once we get the DOJ, FBI and Supreme Court unplugged and flowing again we can begin working on the next piece of the filthy swamp and watch as it slowly disappears down the drain and out of sight. That being the Congress.

The only way to complete the job of draining the swamp is to exercise the power of the ballot box. We have repeatedly sent messages to our Congress that have fallen on deaf ears. Lindsey Graham and John McCain, to name two, are more interested in themselves than they are our country. There are many more that act and feel the same way. The fault for our having a Congress as worthless as the one we have, and daily shake our heads in disgust about, lies at our feet. We have repeatedly sent these same people back to act the same way they have in the past: this is our fault. Nothing will change until they are collectively replaced.

Our challenge is to find patriots and persons of honor and integrity to send to Washington on our behalf. The only way to accomplish this is to educate ourselves about the candidates and vote. You can be sure the well funded war chests of the incumbents will be difficult to overcome, but it can be done if we unite in our efforts and vote.

Don’t become complacent. The armies of liberals and socialists will certainly come out to vote this fall. If we want to save our country we must have the silent masses, conservatives and freedom loving patriots turn out in huge numbers. We were successful in 2016 and we can be just as successful in 2018, if we get out and vote.

You may disagree and think I’m wrong, but you always know I’m right.

The thoughts and ideas expressed above are exclusively those of Jack Straley. We may agree, and that’s fine, or we may disagree, that’s okay too. My sole purpose is to encourage others to think, study, and become involved. Exercise your freedom and above all else please vote.
