Now is one of those times when Republicans have been handed a rare opportunity to out shine their Democrat rivals, unless they screw it up big time. We have the opportunity to load congress with conservatives and eliminate liberals whether democrat or republican. So far the short lived Shucky Chumer 2018 government shutdown has successfully been promoted as a democrat, obstructionist ploy. This ploy is seen as a move to hold America hostage to benefit a few criminal, illegal aliens.
One would think that our politicians were somewhat smart considering their high priced educations and well financed campaigns. However, thoughts are not facts and I make no distinction between Democrats and Republicans. Collectively, both groups repeatedly show themselves to be both deaf and learning impaired.
When did it become proper to ignore the will of the people that have elected them and that they so blatantly disregard? In November 2016 the American conservative citizenry voiced loud and clear their desires and demands. The people sent a political novice to Washington to secure our borders, eliminate government healthcare and build a strong economy to make America great again. The self serving liberals cannot force themselves to act in any manner that does not increase their voter base regardless the effect it has on our country.
Our shutdown has now been moved to February 8 and is still the result of a severely miscalculated political move. Funding of our government is of utmost importance and should never be coupled with a move to legalize hundreds of thousands of criminal, illegal foreign aliens. Let the budget be the budget and changes to immigration should stand alone as a separate issue. With government experiencing the possibility of a shut down, why would we continue to pay congress when we can’t pay the military? They do very little to earn their paychecks under normal circumstances, so why pay them now? We can and need to pass an amendment to the constitution to change this nonsensical practice. Stop their pay and you would see immediate action.
Remember this; time continues to pass at its own pace. It is inevitable that November will come and with it bring a new round of elections. Forget the designations of Democrat or Republican and vote conservative. Remind your representation that their job is on the line and they need to pay attention to the people. DACA stays as it is through March 8, at that time we need it to go away and be known as a program from our past. I don’t know if Congress has enough sense to know that is what the majority of people want. We will accept a plan to offer citizenship to these people that will make them legal. In the meantime they do not have the right to vote or get government assistance of any kind. They are not citizens of this country.
We truly are at the edge of a precipice where we risk tipping over and losing our country forever. Without secure borders and immigration reform we are a doomed republic democracy. Be educated, be active and vote. I have not abandoned or deserted the Republican Party; it abandoned me and many others. I will vote conservative and be proud of it. Most of the so called Republicans that are now seeking reelection know before running they will not win. If you know you can’t win, don’t run. If you can’t support the people you represent, you shouldn’t be there.
Even when I’m wrong, which isn’t often, I’m still right.
