EXCUSES

Everyone at some time or another makes excuses for some reason.  Today our government has great difficulty in functioning, continually making excuses for what can or cannot be accomplished.  If the old adage is correct; excuses satisfy only those that make them, a great number of our elected officials are satisfied.

Mr. Trump has just suffered a defeat on the revised health care plan.  While I hate to see him suffer a defeat this early in his tenure I am pleased that this particular bill was shot down.  Mr. Trump ran strong and hard promising to repeal Obamacare.  This was not repeal, but a revision of a bad law.  Paul Ryan, speaker of the house, repeatedly states this was just step one. And more would follow.  His excuse is that the rules don’t allow full and complete action at one time.  My advice to Mr. Ryan and his liberal republican followers is do not play us as blockheads.   Their actions are as spurious as the balance of their concern for the taxpayers.  Obama care means no more to them than social security.  They have exempted themselves from both.

Gentlemen, your elite club of peksniffian individuals made the rules; therefore you should be able to change the rules.  It is stated the House Parliamentarian will not allow it yet the same person rebuts that they have not been approached or questioned about rule changes.  Quit making excuses, show some fortitude, and get something done.  Repeal of Obamacare would be nice, that’s what our president was elected to do.  Now, help him do it.  Thank goodness we have some representatives, such as the Freedom Caucus, that stick to their virtues and morals.

Our nation is in danger of disappearing simply because we no longer recognize defined borders.  Another campaign promise was to build the wall.  Now Congress is coming up with excuses to not provide financing for this project.  Stop making excuses and get it done.  The world does not have the right to cross our borders any time they so desire.  It is our right to deny entry to anyone.

Does anyone think for a moment that Russia is not getting the best laugh in their recent history?  Russiagate is nothing more than an excuse to divert attention from where it needs to be focused.  Spying is a part of the international system.  It has gone on since the beginning of time.  We have a successful business man in office that scares the hell out of every politician in Washington and they spend their days and nights looking flapdoodle to take attention from their own shortcomings.

The next big item to attack is the overhaul of the tax codes.  Not only will the democrats and republicans not be able to agree, there will be a battle royale with a huge lobby group.  Do not think that accountants and CPA’s will idly sit by and see their jobs become less significant.  This group has large resources set aside solely for the purpose of keeping tax codes as complicated as possible.

It appears the pollsters are working overtime.  Results are in and show that the approval rate for the president and congress are at all time lows.  Our leaders need to stop reading the polls; they didn’t have it right in November, and probably don’t have it right now.  Much to the chagrin of most democrats and all liberals, you can change these polling numbers easily.  Get off your royal throne and do what you were elected to do and your approval ratings will soar to heights never before seen or imagined.

The thoughts and ideas expressed above are exclusively those of Jack Straley.  We may agree, and that’s fine, or we may disagree, that’s okay too.  My sole purpose is to encourage others to think, study, and become involved. Exercise your freedom and above all, when presented the opportunity, please vote

  1. You are right on Jack. Russiagate is completely made up nonsense intended to distract us.

They’ve passed bills repealing Obamacare something like 50 times before – what’s stopping them now?
