RIGHTS

The Constitution of The United States of America is the document that was created to form the basis for all laws and rights concerning individuals, the federal government and state governments. The first ten amendments to the constitution are known as the Bill of Rights.  All rights and benefits granted to the citizenry are covered in the constitution and the subsequent amendments made thereto.

As I have stated previously, The Constitution of The United States of America does not state that that anyone has a right to healthcare coverage. The enactment of Obamacare took certain liberties and the use of taxes to provide such coverage.  It is not a right but simply a privilege that those who so desire, and have the opportunity may participate.

As with Obamacare there is nothing in the constitution, written or implied, that gives the right for foreigners, aliens, immigrants or refugees to have free access into this country. Provisions have been made that allows entry, legally into this nation.  Complete vetting of each and every immigrant is a prerequisite for admittance.  As the nation we know today we are entitled to be educated on who is entering, and their motives for being here.  Without distinct, secure borders we will no longer exist.

This past weekend we had protests at several international airports. These protests were well planned and coordinated to gain the maximum attention and coverage.  The reasons given, such as a ban against Muslims or a ban against the religion of Islam, are completely false.  Nowhere in the executive order signed by President Trump is this stated.  The nations listed were first identified and made known by the Obama administration in 2009.  In 1995 President Clinton, in his State of The Union address paid special attention for the need of extreme vetting of all persons seeking refuge in this country.  No one will report that during the time frame of these protests there were three hundred and twenty-five thousand persons from other countries that came into this country.  Of all these people only one hundred nine were detained.  Of the one hundred nine only two were returned to the country they came from, seventy-seven were released in no more than two and one-half hours with the remaining being released within thirty-six hours.  If one hundred nine out of three hundred twenty-five thousand were inconvenienced for my safety, so be it.

I consider myself a Christian yet I do not want the restrictions lifted. I have compassion but I do not want people to be welcomed here to kill us or cut off our heads.  Would those seeking refugee status not be better off if they were to remain in their country and fight for what they want?  If these people truly want to immigrate and become citizens of this country, why do they not try to assimilate into our society and act as the vast majority of Americans?  They want to escape Sharia law, then leave it behind and live quietly under our laws.  You want the women to be free, take the burkas off of them and let us see who and what they are.

Congressional representatives Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren along with other presidential wannabe’s can cry crocodile tears all day long and do nothing but show their ignorance on the issues. These people and others like them have sworn repeatedly to fight President Trump on anything he attempts to do.  John McCain was held in prison camp and tortured; now he wants to bring other torturers and murderers to our country.  Lindsey Graham, there simply is no explanation for, he remains a sore loser and joins the chorus on everything Mr. McCain voices displeasure about.

It is unfortunate that we have reached a point in our history where a small vocal crowd can drown out the voices of the masses and of sanity. Radical Democrats and extreme liberals are trying to make this country another third world country.  We cannot stand by and let this happen.  We must unite and broadcast our message every day with every breath we can spare.  We ask God to bless this country but we must also remember God helps those that help themselves.

I only regret my platform isn’t big enough or visible enough to garner the attention of those I feel are betraying our country. I would like for it to be big enough to get the attention of these radicals.  I can envision myself sitting on my porch, a glass of iced tea (or an adult beverage) and watch the black helicopters circle and the big black Suburban’s creep slowly up my street.

The thoughts and ideas expressed above are exclusively those of Jack Straley. We may agree, and that’s fine, or we may disagree, that’s okay too.  My sole purpose is to encourage others to think, study, and become involved. Exercise your freedom and above all, when presented the opportunity, please vote.

  1. Hi Jack, my only quibble with this is the constitution doesn’t “grant” rights, or benefits to the people. As the Declaration of Independence says, we are all born with certain unalienable rights – they don’t flow from government. We’re simply born with them endowed by our creator. The constitution defines what the government can and can’t do.

As for immigration, Article 1 Section 8 Clause 4 says “[The Congress shall have the power] To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, …;”

This means the CONGRESS decides (on behalf of us, the people) who gets to come here, and when they get to come here. NOT the president. ONLY the Congress has the authority to set the numbers – NOT the president. The president – who runs the executive branch, MUST follow the directions set by the Congress on immigration – he can’t go off and decide unilaterally to start taking in thousands of Syrian refugees or open the border to Mexico. What Obama did was unconstitutional. Trump is merely restoring the rightful balance of powers.
