How far is too far? How close have we come to the point of no return? Can our government operate without partisan politics and self interests being the driving force?
I sit here and watch the confirmation hearings now being conducted concerning the nominations made by President-elect Trump. What has happened to the practice of asking questions about points of interest or security in this process? There is so much bloviating and grand standing it makes it almost impossible for the nominee to give a straight forward answer. Senator Al Frankin, a former comic on Saturday Night Live, recklessly and foolishly attempted to interrogate Jeff Sessions with questions based on known falsehoods and outright lies. Where are the voices of the Republicans that should be outraged by this action?
These hearings are one more step in the process of hampering and limiting any success or action taken by the president-elect. Many, if not most of the Democrat representation we have in Washington D.C. have publicly and loudly proclaimed their intentions to keep anything, good or bad, from occurring during this administration. Where are the voices of the Republicans that should be outraged by this action?
These very same liberals and leftists have taken their movement against this election and subsequent administration into private businesses. Companies like L.L.Bean, that employ hundreds of loyal patriots are being targeted as objects of boycott, simply because some of the management and ownership made donations to the Republican candidate in the most recent election. I was raised the son of a Democrat. I was repeatedly lectured of the fact that these were the people of the common man, the working class. Led by the likes of Hillary Clinton the working class has almost been eliminated and replaced with a welfare or entitlement generation.
The information being displayed by our intelligence agencies is also subject to close scrutiny. All my life I have felt the FBI was one institution, created by our government that was above reproach. Recently that idealistic theory has been shattered. The manner in which information has been decimated recently makes one question the integrity of all such agencies. The heads of these departments, John Clapper as an example, are political hangers on that have never been exposed to the reality of the world outside government.
Pray for us please. The same power hungry, egotistical, greedy career politicians that got us into this mess in the first place, are the ones we are entrusting to conduct the confirmation hearings now in progress. Both sides of the aisle need to grow up and be alert for the world as it is changing. If you didn’t get the message during the last election, shame on you. That is further proof you are not intelligent enough to make decisions that will direct the course of this country.
Keep the battle going. We must eliminate the sore losers and career politicians through the power of the ballot box. Where are the voices of the American people that care? We see the lack of intelligence or rational common sense being exhibited. Look closely, these are the people we have elected to go to Washington and represent us. No wonder our country is screwed up. Just watch and listen, it’s embarrassing to know the rest of the world thinks we all are like them. Heaven help us.
