We won the battle but, the war must go on. Phase two of making America great again involves deep draining of the swamp. The Republican Party is in control of the White House, House and Senate yet they defer to the wide open spending of the far left and liberals.
Mr. Trump will take office in two weeks. Since his election he has maintained a busier work schedule that any previous president. He has achieved this amid the most coordinated group of protesters that cannot or will not accept the results of the election.
Mr. Trump, and we the people, have a much larger target to aim for than the democrats and liberals. Several incumbent congressmen are trying to derail any advancement that is tried. It is an insult for John McCain and Lindsey Graham to make snide remarks about the president elect while questioning the various heads of intelligence. In subsequent interviews they express their disgust while questioning his ability to govern. They are both hawks and would have us in a war with Russia immediately if allowed to have their way. Yet they continue to get reelected.
Leaders of this country have received false intelligence reports in the past. These reports have led us into war, however well deserved, but for the wrong reasons. How can we receive intelligence information from eleven different intelligence agencies? Who can determine what is correct and what is false? Does anyone see big government overlap here? This is a prime example of bloated government in action or better stated non-action. I would be skeptical of this information also. Recent events show that every arm of government has been politicized, even the FBI.
Our republican congress is sheepishly waving a budget that will add ten trillion dollars to the national debt over the next ten years. They have the gall to do this after the American people have just recently spoken. They call this compromise. The veiled attempts to kill or change Obama care are charades. As of today they state they are willing to vote on the elimination of the Affordable Care Act but want to defer any action for at least two years. That would get them past the 2018 election cycle. I personally am tired of hearing that health care is a basic right of all citizens. It is a right if you get up, work and purchase your health care plan. This is a privilege for hard working people.
Since when do we have the duty to condemn other countries for hacking our computer systems? This is a part of functioning intelligence agencies, even our own. Does the public think for a moment that we do not have people monitoring every phone call they possibly can while others are diligently working to gain entrance to every computer system in the world? You can ask Angela Merkel if she thinks we might do this.
As elections continue every two years we need to vote out of office people like John McCain and Lindsey Graham. They are not the only ones, just examples. Our job is to stay informed on what is being done, who is proposing it and what the result will be. Every individual, of both parties, must be held accountable. If fellow republicans continue to talk trash and downplay the effectiveness of Mr. Trump, even before he takes office, they need to be held accountable and voted out of office.
On November 8, 2016 the American people proved to the media, politicians and the world that they do have a voice. We must continue using that voice and not become disenchanted or tired of the battle. The only tool we have to help drain this swamp is the ballot box.
We won the battle, but the war must go on. Only if we continue fighting for our country can we ever become victorious
