It all started, so very long ago
About two thousand, years or so
A virgin girl, in a stable gave birth,
And stillness, covered the earth.

The night was very cool and clear,
A bright star appeared, seeming near.
From afar the kings watched the sky
Knowing the time was drawing nigh.

They brought gifts, with him to share
Once their journey, brought them there.
On this night, they found the holy one
Knowing deep inside, it was God’s son.

Christmas now, brings happiness,
With hustle, bustle and busyness.
Advent makes me complete with joy,
All created by the birth, of a baby boy.

No gift we will get, can ever compare
To what our Lord, did gracefully share.
Christmas day, is a reminder unfurled
This child will forever, rule our world.
