It is said that before one dies his or her life flashes past his eyes or mind or something. Hope I’m not dying but I am remembering lots of things from early in my life. It was the late fifties and we had finally gotten a television. We couldn’t receive many stations; it depended mainly on the weather. Being the son of a farmer, out in the country, we had certain chores to perform which limited our television viewing time. I did find one show that I was able to watch almost every week; it was “The Untouchables.”
Elliot Ness was issued a challenge. To accomplish his mission he had to gather a group of men of extremely high character and were untouchable as far as bribery and corruption went. Together they were able to end the reign of Al Capone and his mob family. They were not able to charge him with the crimes they originally went after but succeeded with prosecution of other charges that brought him down.
In today’s world, do we have people or investigators that are untouchable? We all know full well our FBI and DOJ do not employ such people. How can a supposedly honorable person such as the director of the FBI, cite orally a list of eleven flagrant and dangerous, illegal acts by another government employee, and not recommend charges be filed? The list of questionable activities stretches over more than three decades and this person along with her husband have remained untouchable. The DOJ is the highest legal authority in America, yet, when presented with material and evidence that would merit indictment, refuses to do so.
Over the past this family of public servants has had numerous instances concerning questionable deaths of associates with no answers or closures of the cases occurring. How is this possible? The major media outlets will report these questionable activities but only when they can hide it in the midst of other less interesting items.
The major media has become as corrupt as congress and some candidates for the presidency. Mr. Trump is exactly right about the news that comes from these sources. Not only do they hide unfavorable news concerning the Clinton’s, they exaggerate the news generated by any republican. A thirty second derogative article on a democrat is followed by five minutes on a republican that has committed a less derogative statement or act.
The fourteenth amendment to the Constitution guarantees equal justice for all under the law. Of course this is all too often left up to the Supreme Court to interpret what is equal justice. As I have stated earlier, in previous articles, interpretation of intent is dangerous path to tread. Democrat, Republican, rich or poor, all must have the law applied in the same manner and judgment made accordingly.
The time is now, for us to act. While you may not be in favor of either major party candidate, please don’t waste your vote by casting it for someone that cannot win but could put someone else in a winning position. Whoever wins will possibly appoint as many as four justices to the Supreme Court during their term. These appointments will affect law and justice for several generations. It cannot be stacked with persons anxiously waiting to rewrite or arbitrarily change written and accepted law.
Unfortunately, third party candidates can be more disruptive than ever before. They have the power to sway the election to the most corrupt, criminal, and unfit person that has ever run. Mr. Trump may not stand as the beacon of purity you would like, but he will protect the Supreme Court. Mr. Trump has drawn unknown numbers of new voters in the fray. I pray they all registered to vote and help determine the victor in this election.
I call on all Christians to unite. I feel, my feelings only, that no one that is a Christian or for reasons only they know, calls themselves Christian, could vote for Hillary Clinton. The only exception could be one that contributes to Bill, and receives benefits from Hill. Our way of life and the sovereignty of our country are at stake. They can never be bought or sold.
I always encourage you to vote. Please, make sure you have registered to vote in this upcoming election. Talk and support is great but registering to vote is imperative. Study the facts, educate yourself, support your choice, and register to vote then vote.
