HATE

Hate is a very powerful, profound word. Not unlike many four letter words it stirs strong emotions when spoken.  It appears the talking heads are filling our airways with hatred while columnists or essayists are repeating hate in every paragraph written for distribution in both print and electronic media.  This election season has bred stronger feelings and more hate toward fellow men than any election in history.

Merriam-Webster defines hate as “an intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury.”  The consummate fear being displayed by the elected establishment politicians, both democrat and republican, is rampant in every oration we hear.  The amount of corruption existing in Washington is the cause of this fear.  All involved have come to the realization that if the presumed republican nominee is elected, they will be exposed.  Exposure could and should bring an abrupt end to the lavish lifestyles and unearned riches that have been enjoyed, at our expense, so flagrantly.

The end of such activities could possibly result in great shame and even prison sentences for these very elite individuals. Yes, the power elite should be and are experiencing fear they have never experienced before.  The constant exposure to huge sums of money coupled with the extreme power they so artfully wield breeds corruption.  Good people can be sent to do a job but the temptations they face are difficult if not impossible to ignore and they eventually become its victim.  Big money breeds big corruption.

Every person seeking office cannot be a winner. Good people will lose.  The candidate of my choice may not be the eventual winner.  In the end, right or wrong, I will support the person that represents my party or is the one closest aligned with my principles and desires.  No good will ever come from the poor losers that continue to condemn and undermine the one that is the winner.  Two examples are: Glen Beck and Mark Levin.  The hateful vitriol these gentlemen spew forth does nothing to further the cause of freedom.  In our country they have the right to say what they may, and I will defend that right, no matter how strongly I disagree with what they say.  The second line in the definition of hate as extolled by Merriam-Webster is “an object of hatred.”  That is what Mr. Trump has become to these individuals.

Get over it. If you don’t agree with the republican nominee and his stance, move on.  Support the candidate of your choice and preach the virtues of that person.  The continual trashing of Mr. Trump is getting old.  In many instances, the person or persons that assisted in making him the influence he has become are the same ones now laboring to destroy him.  He may not be the pillar of integrity, compassion or political correctness you are seeking, but he is not a socialist or a criminal.  Which choice will you make?  I have made my choice, now you need to make yours.  Follow that with support of the person and then vote, otherwise your complaining means absolutely nothing.

Hate is a very powerful four letter word. The New International Version (NIV) Bible uses the word hate eighty times.  The same book has “love” appearing five hundred fifty-one times consisting of three hundred nineteen times in the Old Testament and two hundred thirty-two in the New Testament.  It may not be possible to love in this context, but hate is not what is needed.  Let’s calm the rhetoric floating around and show our true feelings at the ballot box.  We can only have the country or world we want by being active and educated in making our choices.

I am so fed up with these so-called Republicans that are yelling they will never vote for Trump. He is the republican nominee and if you are a true republican you know how to vote.  Don’t worry about your possible loss of power and influence, think about your country.  If nothing else consider the Supreme Court.  What kind of court do you want?  Whoever is elected will build the Supreme Court in a manner they like and it will last for years to come.

The thoughts and ideas expressed above are exclusively those of Jack Straley. We may agree, and that’s fine, or we may disagree, that’s okay too.  My sole purpose is to encourage others to think, study, and become involved. Exercise your freedom and above all else please vote.
