RULES
What are the rules of the game? Do you want to play, and play by the rules? There was time when the above lines were understood, you didn’t have to ask, they were just understood. Some rules were written while others were not. Now, as with many things we find ourselves connected to and comfortable with, the rules are changing.
The rules have definitely changed in the world of politics. The common man is voicing angst and standing up to the establishment politicians. In the past this was against the rules. The rule today is: you must listen if you want to retain your position in office. Both major political parties are preparing for their respective conventions. They have rules to go by, but watch real closely, attempts will be made to change the rules that do not favor the establishment. This may result in open revolt by the common man as he insists his voice be heard.
The rules have changed concerning the value of life. “Black Lives Matter” is a rallying cry that causes more division than unity. In the past the rule was that all law enforcement was there to protect and serve all classes and races of people. Some are saying the rule has changed and black people have no law enforcement supporting them. It should never be acceptable for black on black crime to be disregarded or white on black crime to be overlooked. The rules should apply to everyone, equally.
“To protect and to serve” has been a police motto for years. With the changing of the rules what will this motto meld into? Activist can fill the streets protesting for any reason imaginable, lately most often it seems, the actions of the police. Yet, these same officials that are the subject of the protest stand quietly by insuring the protesters are protected and safe. They get rocks, bottles and bricks hurled at them while performing their duty. They are condemned at every turn in the road, but are the first ones called when a protester or activist feels threatened. Police can be slaughtered and still be criticized for taking out the one doing the killing. Is there a rule that allows one deranged individual to take open season on a police department? If there is I missed it. What are the rules anymore?
What are the rules concerning mental Illness? The easy and politically correct answer to the open season on law enforcement is mental illness. Yes, these individuals may be sick, but in my opinion they are living examples of pure, unadulterated evil and hate. Rules are rules and these people are breaking the basic rules of civilization.
We can’t have the FBI investigate the situation in Dallas. If we did, no charges would be filed. What are the rules when politics and law meet? A person seeking office is under investigation on numerous fronts. The result of the investigation will be handed over to the Attorney General. Meanwhile the husband of the person under investigation meets with this Attorney General in a secret, private meeting hours before the investigation ends. Strange. Within twenty-four hours the results of the investigation are announced recommending no charges be filed. Within seventy-two hours our Attorney General announces case is closed. What rules did they go by? It was the general rule not long ago the findings of an investigation were turned over to the prosecuting agency (District Attorney, Attorney General, DOJ) who then reviewed and determined if charges were to be filed. The sheriff or the police chief did not recommend the filing of charges or not. They supplied their findings and let the prosecutor or grand jury determine if charges were to be filed. Those were the rules.
The rules have changed concerning entitlements. Entitlements were misnamed at the onset. Entitlements are simply welfare or assistance but cannot be called that because of political correctness. In the past, people that needed help could get it, and if used wisely, it gave them an opportunity to get back on their feet. With the rule change it has become a way of life. If a person can work the system while interpreting the rules to their benefit, and qualify for assistance he/she instantly will become entitled to these benefits and can leech off the backs of honest, hard working people. Entitlements have created a situation that makes it impossible to become independent again. There is no incentive to overcome the welfare state
Yes, the rules have changed. I don’t know the rules anymore, do you? Rules are constantly changing to make acceptable any act or deed being done. If it’s against the rules, don’t worry, we’ll just change the rules.
God bless us all. My challenge is to better understand the laws set out by Jesus and follow them as best I can. They don’t change. If you want to know the rules and know they will never change, come on over with me. The rules are in the Bible for easy reading.
Did you send this to Rudy cause some of this he used. Just sayin
