MEMORIAL DAY
MAY 30, 2016
For those who died, we take this day
To bow our heads and humbly say,
To you, we owe, our good way of life
And you’re at peace, no more strife.
We take one day, within this year
For picnics, games, and lots of cheer.
You nevermore will know of pain
Yet in our hearts, you will remain.
The cost of freedom, is not free at all
But for this cause, many men did fall.
On lonely fields they fought, far away
Our debt to you, we can never pay.
May we this day, and for evermore
Find in ourselves, the very core
To continue the fight, that you began
So we can have, a strong free land.
To you we owe, a debt so great,
And now we honor, your final fate.
By God’s design, please lead us right
Let us never weaken, nor lose the fight.
Like Daniel we beg you hear our plea
For mercy on this, a sin filled country
We make this plea on your great mercy
Make us great for you, from sea to sea.
