Political Correctness
I have tried very hard to stay active and keep my mind working and alert. I may have failed; I feel I am beginning to show my age. I find myself looking back at the past and revisiting things that happened around the world. Sending troops to Viet Nam, Bay of Pigs and the Kennedy assassination were big, very big. The arguments at the soccer and baseball fields and at marble games were indeed small. We called each other names, blew spit balls and generally made pests of ourselves, and no legal action was ever taken.
In my many years of marriage, and prior to that, growing up in a house with three females, there seemed to be one problem shared by all. Was the toilet seat up or down? Many nights I was fully awakened by finding the seat up when it should have been down. Being ever considerate and compassionate I would never leave it up on purpose. This single issue has brought more discussion and confrontation in the first few years of marriage than anything else, maybe even finances.
In today’s world we are slapped square in the face with political correctness. When the world lost its common sense, I do not know. One of the driving forces is the small but extremely loud LGBT community. When I was growing up boys were boys and girls were girls. I never knew a boy that wanted to be a girl or vice versa. With all the problems our country faces it is almost unbelievable that today’s election may hinge on who can use what restroom.
The only distinction we had on restrooms was MENS then WOMENS and often times another with COLORED on the doors. That situation was addressed and corrected not by political correctness but by common sense, compassion, understanding and education. The world view on important issues has changed. We can make no law, treaty or pact without considering political correctness. We may enact bad, stupid laws, but that’s okay because it is politically correct.
Our children are sent to school to be educated. Today’s classrooms are so consumed with political correctness that true, honest education is not possible. The wording used today makes it impossible to teach, without omitting, some very basic facts. Most importantly, in my early years of formal education we had the Boys Outhouse and the Girls Outhouse. We were taught which one we were to use, there was no question or uncertainty to cause confusion.
I don’t want my children or grandchildren to enter a restroom where a predator or pedophile of the opposite sex, in his confused state of mind, could molest and abuse them. I certainly hope the mainstream media can find other questions to ask than the candidates thoughts on the restroom issue. We need to ask questions seeking answers to our deficit and how to eliminate ISIS while downsizing government and rebuilding our military.
I have repeatedly asked everyone to pray for our candidates and their positions. Let me add a prayer request for our mainstream media. Give them the knowledge and ability to focus on things that matter. Using restrooms is a no brainer, males should use the one designed for them and females use the one designed with them and their needs in mind.
I wonder if the message Jesus had for the multitudes was or wasn’t politically correct. It didn’t matter; the message was true and still is today. We are to love our enemies so please add all those idiotic extreme groups to your prayer list whether it’s politically correct or not.
It was just announced that TARGET is supporting the trans-gender restroom issue. If you shop there, don’t let your kids use the restroom and you might be careful yourselves. One remedy is to not go there. There will be other businesses to follow. Please, will someone lead.
