EQUALITY

EQUALITY

Today we often hear discussions concerning equality among the masses. Many methods, all equally ridiculous, are tossed about.  No form of government or type of economy can successfully achieve or endure under a philosophy of equality.  Equality has been attempted under many different flags on different continents and in different countries, to no avail.

Democrat Party candidate Bernie Sanders has the loudest voice, at this time, for equality. At his rallies you hear young loud voices crying and denouncing greed by the successful.  Every country in the world today operates on a system of greed.  China, Japan, Russia, India and Pakistan to name a few adhere to flagrant greed.  Yes, I am greedy.  I want my share.  The difference is I am willing to work for my share.  If I don’t achieve my share, it is my fault.  Everyone is given the same opportunity to achieve success.  Those that don’t succeed need to step up and accept their failure as their own.  The only equality is the opportunity given each person.  It is the responsibility of each person to strive to overcome any obstacle and succeed.  It is time to act rather than cry discrimination and blame others.   Most people I know are successful through diligence, determination, hard work and yes greed.  Why should one that works hard be required to share their rewards with those that do not share these efforts?  Yes they are efforts not abilities.  One can overcome many shortcomings in ability with hard work and determination.

Our country is the wealthiest nation on planet earth. It is wealthy because of our economic philosophy of capitalism and free enterprise.  For capitalism to achieve the ultimate in success it must endorse free enterprise.  Free enterprise excels with smaller more limited government.  The more intrusive and controlling a government is the less prosperity and growth will occur.

The United States government has become intrusive to the extent we are dictated to as to what light bulbs we can purchase and use to what fuel can be used to generate the electricity that lights up these bulbs. Government has taken over the best health care system in the world and denigrated it to the levels of lesser, struggling dictatorships and nations the world over.  The spirit of equality has taken health care from being a privilege of the hard working class to a right of the idle welfare class.  Our government is attempting to force automobiles onto the public that they do not want.  Manufacturers are dictated how many alternative vehicles they must produce.  Small vehicles to electric and hybrid vehicles must be produced in quota filling numbers.  The numbers of these vehicles, and the money lost on the production of them, is driving the prices on more desirable vehicles ever higher.  This is not an example of free enterprise or small unobtrusive government interference.  Labor markets and standard wages are best left to be controlled by the free market based on supply and demand.

The only way this country can remain the wealthiest and most successful nation in history is through free enterprise and freedom. The only way for this to happen is to elect governing bodies that are not consumed by personal greed at the expense of the people they are elected to serve.  We have to know who we are electing and what their beliefs are.

Redistribution of wealth and outlawing of free enterprise is the avenue to speed the destruction of this nation. There is no equality.  Every nation has poor, and every nation has their share of successful people.  The desires and rewards of success can never be destroyed.  You may be more successful and wealthier than I am, but that is entirely due to my own shortcomings, not government rules or unfair, inequality.  Give free people the opportunity to succeed and prosper without interference, and they will.

Our challenge remains to become educated and informed on the candidates. Campaign for reasonable choices, register to vote, and vote.  November 8, 2016 is the most important date to vote we have ever faced.

The thoughts and ideas expressed above are exclusively those of Jack Straley. We may agree, and that’s fine, or we may disagree, that’s okay too.  My sole purpose is to encourage others to think, study, and become involved. Exercise your freedom and above all else please vote.
